There are MILLIONS of destinations to vacation and recreate in the world, but there has always been something special about "Up North."

It seems like no matter where people live in the U.S., they generally go "that direction."

For Ace and his family, "Up North" is Michigan's beautiful and scenic central Upper Peninsula, 5 miles from the Wisconsin border.

The "U.P." is full of everything that the outdoorsman could ever want- Crystal clear lakes and streams teeming with fish- Walleye, Northern and Musky, as well as smallmouth and largemouth bass, bluegill, and trout, babbling brooks, Hundreds of waterfalls, game filled woods (deer season in "da U.P" is a borderline religious experience!) and true 4-season adventure.

Our cabin sleeps 8 adults comfortably, and up to 12 adults/children. Your rental includes use of a canoe and kayak to explore the abundant water in the U.P.

17' Fishing boat with 50hp Outboard available for an additional charge.

Spring

Springtime is short up north, but brings the trout, bass and walleye openers, and Turkey season in April. Some of the best fishing for Northern Pike and Muskies occurs just after "last ice."

This is one of the best times of year to do a "Waterfall Tour," as the rivers are full of snowmelt and the waterfalls are at their most spectacular. Temperatures run into the 50's and 60's, with lofs below freezing some nights- which makes a campfire or hot tub soak an excellent experience.

Summer

Summer "Up North" is PERFECT. Sunny days with warm temperatures and very low humidity. Plan on bringing a jacket with you for the evenings, because the temperature can be in the low 60's after the sun goes down.

Fishing is in full swing by the end of May, and the fishing in the lakes withing 15 miles of the cabin in all directions is so good they practically jump in the boat most days!

Swimming in any one of the 8 to 10 lakes within a 10 minute ride is also one of the most popular things to do suring the middle of the day. Don't foret your sunscreen!

Fall

If you havent't seen the northern fall colors from mid-September through mid-October, you owe yourself a trip up here! The woods are vibrant with green, yellow, red and brown, and hiking, biking or driving the numerous hills and backroads is an awesome, relaxing and beautiful experience.

The fall hunting season is also noting short of fantastic in the north woods, with deer, bear, "partridge" (Ruffed Grouse," rabbit and squirrel available less than 5 minutes from the front door.

Finally, there are numerous "fall" celebrations across the U.P. just a short drive- with something going on almost every weekend from August through mid-November.

Winter

Winter "Up North" is amazing!

With snowfall measuring in the HUNDREDS of inches, there is never a shortage of things to do.

Many of the beautiful northern waterfalls become sparkling, icicle-filled cascades that make them an excellent day trip, drive or hike and then return to the cabin for a fire and hot chocolate!

Like to Snowmobile?

The cabin is located 200 yards from one of the MAIN snowmobile trails in upper Michigan. Snowmobile trails allow visits to Iron Mountain, Marquette, Houghton and the Keeweenaw Peninsula, Ironwood/Hurley, Big Bay, Eagle River, WI, and MORE!

Ski Brule, the number one rated family ski destination in the midwest, is a 6 mile drive. Hundreds of miles of hiking trails become perfect places to Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe. Winterfest in Iron River and the National Championship Snowmobile races in Eagle River are not to be missed!

All of the lakes that you fished in the spring, summer and fall are STILL THERE- and still FULL of fish.

Some of the best ice fishing in the country is a few minutes from your front door.
